The Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce is actively working to promote our members in 2010, and the Board of Directors encourages you to renew your annual membership by March 5th so that your business can benefit. This year, our goal is to be a more active marketing partner for your business because we know that the entire community benefits when businesses are successful. In this economy, it’s important for all of us to work together toward that goal. The Chamber Board of Directors has developed a strategy designed specifically to help drive traffic to your business. We start by playing a more visible role in the community. Then, we provide marketing tools to help you reach more customers. And finally, we offer opportunities for you to network with other area business leaders because building relationships with our peers can make a difference. In January, we re‐opened the Chamber of Commerce office in the City Annex building downtown. Chamber members are volunteering their time to keep the office open from 8 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays. Already, the office has received several inquiries and visitors are dropping by to learn more about our community. You can help make the Chamber office a more valuable resource by providing information and materials about your business so that we can promote you to those making inquiries. In addition to the physical presence of the Chamber, the Board is developing a newsletter that will be mailed at least twice annually to all Liberty Hill area postal customers. Our first edition scheduled for April will feature interesting stories about member businesses, as well as positive stories about our community. As a Chamber member, you will want to take advantage of advertising opportunities in the newsletter because for many of us, sending direct mail can be a significant expense. Look for more information soon about our newsletter. You will notice some changes to our website as well. Not only do we promote our members through directory listings, but our content will change regularly to highlight members and Chamber activities. Your Chamber of Commerce will play an important role in the coming years as the Liberty Hill community continues to grow. Knowing this, the Board is constantly looking for ways to involve more of our members in the organization. In recent years, members have met once a month during lunch to hear engaging speakers on a number of topics. We will continue to provide these opportunities, but are also working to schedule networking opportunities at different times of the day to make them more accessible to those who may commute or are not able to break away during regular business hours. While your Chamber Board of Directors has developed a promising strategy to benefit the business community in 2010 and beyond, its success is directly connected to the involvement of members. As you know, the organization is completely dependent upon the annual dues of its members, and now is the time to renew your membership. But, if you really want the Chamber to produce results for you, writing a check won’t be enough. Members who play a more active role build relationships with each other that always lead to more business opportunities. Let 2010 be the year that you put your Chamber membership to work for your business. Use it as a marketing tool and a networking opportunity. And while building your business, stay active in the organization so that others can benefit from your ideas and participation. Help us get things started by renewing your membership by March 5th. And, be sure to call on your Chamber Board of Directors when we can be of service. | Rich Tulp, Chairman | DigiTex Printing | 778-9191 |
